"Thank you for your courage and goodness in sharing the story. Jimmy was blessed to have such a loving, accepting family, and yet, the question that constantly eats at my heart is why can't we all be like that; why can't all families and the family of nations be more loving and accepting? How can people possibly believe they are honoring God and obeying His Word when they act with such cruelty towards any of God's precious children? He is God of ALL, and He loves all His children. If that weren't true, what hope would there be for any of us?" (written by a nun)
"If I can, let me tell you what I thought when I saw Jimmy's pictures. I thought he was very beautiful for one thing; I wish I could have had the chance to know him. Who knows, maybe we could have helped each other?"
"I just read about Jimmy and my prayers are with you. I loved the guy and didn't even know him. I hope to become a counselor and try my hardest to relate to every one of them and save as many as I can."
"I have had very similar problems as Jimmy's. And like him, I am gay. I have revealed this for the first time in my life very recently. Because of your site, I know that I am not nor was not the only one to feel this way."
"Tonight I found your website. I'm a gay guy. Happiness is swimming around me, and I live for the next sunrise, and it makes me sad to see what we as a people go through."

"Your story is very touching. It is sad to hear that loved ones are lost because of the people who are afraid to accept people who are different. As a mother...it is my hope and the hope of many others, I am confident, that people become in generations to come more informed, more compassionate and less hateful in their regard."

"I just finished the article about your wonderful son James in the Indianapolis Star...and am glad to hear that you have not let his spirit die and have been working on positive ways to keep his memory alive. Hopefully by working together we can see to it that future Jimmys will not have to endure what he had to go through. Jimmy's light can shine on to make the world brighter for us all."

Here is a poem I wrote to Jim after I visited your site.

"James is a Hero"

Yes, your words touched me so very close
I too have felt that grinding stone on my very nose.
But I am in the closet
And now you are in the casket
You've made it to that world of angels
As you, through pain, so spoke
Make it
Molding the world to our own
Through your pain
WE ALL have gained
You Leader,
Healer
Hero
Of US
We, Gay teenage America
Salute you,
James Franklin Wheeler

Thank you for your site. All the material put forth on your site has encouraged me. James's words spoke so deeply to me. Yes, I am a closeted lesbian but I have again been encouraged to stand tall and firm in my sexuality and pride. Thank you James and Family!
