Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the soft uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the bright star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.

Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Jim Wheeler website.
Thanks to the diligence of our family members, this has been a labor of love for all of us. The site has been updated thanks to the experience and expertise of Mike LaMonaca of Equality Forum. It is now current regarding the documentary JIM IN BOLD.
It has taken two long years to get Jimmy's artworks and poetry patented. Glen and I are very grateful and proud of our children's efforts and devotion to this project. Our goal and purpose for this tribute is twofold.
First, we want to celebrate Jim's talent in both his artistic and literary endeavors. Also, we want to share his creativity and ingenuity with anyone who is interested in his life. Secondly, our family has a strong commitment to help gay teens to become functioning members of our society.
Through Jim's artistic description on his canvases and in his poetry, we hope that there will be an emotional connection between gay youths at risk and the pain, ridicule and hatred Jim experienced in his everyday life.
Our world is homophobic and very unforgiving to lifestyles which are out of the "norm." Homosexuality is not a sin or a choice. Many Christian groups and other organizations would have us believe otherwise.
Not only does homophobia hurt but it is deadly. So it is with these thoughts in mind that we hope you will share Jim's story and help support gay rights any way you can.
Thank you for your time,
Susan Wheeler
